unless it's a mutual accepted war between 2 tribes (never happens) or someone comes on the server that's a griefer. We have our own server rules where nobody is allowed to raid, KOS, etc. I know how you feel about everyone being pricks and so on however, the server I play on now, OfficialServer54 is not like that. Hey fellas lol, glad y'all are enjoying the game. My buddies in h1z1 built up a nice base and forged some alliances, then took on some really powerful "clans" of people, blew up their front door, killed a ton of people, and stole their stuff. but having the threat of being raided seems kind of interesting too. Seems like you poop every 5 minutes in that game lol. Really, even if you don't like it, you have to do it anyway.įurther players have been supplementing what we do, mostly gathering resources. J tends to take dinosaurs with him, whereas I go it alone (since the incident where I tamed a dodo, and accidentally set it to aggressive next to a bronto, I'm not trusted with animals for some reason).Įveryone likes to craft. She's our base's Mom, always asking the important questions before we go off adventuring: "Did you eat? Do you have food? Do you have water? Did you poop?"Ĭ likes to take care of the critters, taming, hunting, and learning everything about them. I'll just stick to first initials for the sake of simplicity.Ī likes to homestead, cooking, farming, irrigation, building. Our server is a lot of fun because early on, our initial players each found themselves a niche. Seems like the kind of game that would be way easier with 10-15 people banding up together to accomplish things (similar to how h1z1 is). I think I'd like to play it on an official server, but with a bunch of friends from other games. Interesting! I did not know you could run your own server for Ark. At the top of this ladder is a sign that says "3 days since the last falling death" and I think that really does say a lot about us as a group. Case in point: our base is on a cliff, and we have a trap door with a ladder going down. We don't need other players upsetting that balance. It's made for a stellar experience as far as playing the game goes.īesides, when it comes to my friends and I, our worst enemies are our own incompetence and poor decisions. That right there is why I run my own private server and play only with my friends. When you go offline, your character's body remains (albeit in a ragdoll-ish form) on the server. They're constantly updating the game, adding more stuff and fixing issues. I don't notice much latency, and my players don't notice much, only mentioning the occasional blip (I'm running my server on my desktop at home). the whole "when you go offline you can be killed in your sleep" thing.Īs far as latency and performance goes, they've made huge strides in those departments. Have they addressed any of that yet?Īlso. I've been considering getting this, but I heard there were horrible latency and performance issues.
